The first combined use of XCT and AM, producing an SLA skull model. Mankovitch et al. noted in the model the depiction of a cleft upper palate and the presence of imaging artefacts around the teeth in the XCT data, induced by the presence of incomplete attenuation profiles as a result of the patient's metal fillings [9]. Build problems were also noted in the B image relating to floating contours and the nature of the SLA process. Images reproduced from reference [12].
